Bicyclist Who Died May Be From Temecula
The 60-year-old man's last known address was listed in Temecula, a Riverside County sheriff's sergeant said.
A bicyclist who died Sunday morning on a Santa Rosa Plateau trail west of Murrieta may have had a medical event, a sergeant said.
Firefighters were called about 8:15 a.m. to investigate a downed bicyclist on the Stevenson Canyon bike trail of the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve, according to Cal Fire's Jody Hagemann.
According to sheriff's Sgt. Ken Chaffin, the man was found by cyclists who unsuccessfully tried to administer CPR but he was pronounced dead by paramedics.
Preliminary identification of the man indicates he was a Temecula resident, Chaffin said.
His next of kin will be notified before his name is released.
Sheriff's deputies must also ensure "no foul play" was involved, the sergeant said.

Horrible tragedy, especially those who keep exercising even though they have a medical condition. It doesnt stop them from trying to take care of themselves, to heal and stay in shape, however maybe he should have had a biking partner.
He is in the arms of Angels now and can ride anywhere!!! RIP Sir and strength out to the family during this beyond difficult time. From the pictures it was a beautiful blue skies morning as the Lord placed his hands upon him.

Brenda, please try to be mindful that when you criticize a deceased family member after the loss, you hurt his survivors by suggesting he or they didn't to enough to take care of him. The medical condition that took my brother was unknown to him and to his family until he died. He was not only in great physical condition, but he saw his doctor very regularly, and the medical professionals involved could not determine an exact reason for his death. Finally, while he rode alone, he often road with many partners, and he and his wife took the precaution to purchase a road ID bracelet, which he wore faithfully. Best advice: It is wise not to comment on the facts when you don't know them. --Lee's sister
