Parents to Discuss School's Book

Parents of Temecula students were invited to discuss "The Illustrated Man" by Ray Bradbury.

Parents of students in the Temecula Valley Unified School District were invited to review a book on the seventh-grade core literature list.

The meeting is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Friday at Chaparral High School, according to Barbara Burkett of the Temecula Valley Council PTA.

They are slated to discuss "The Illustrated Man" by Ray Bradbury. It is a collection of 18 short stories published in 1951, Burkett said in an emailed announcement.

"The group gives parents a chance to read and discuss the books their students are or will be reading in middle and high school," Burkett said.

The reading group will meet several more times in the next few months. Meetings are scheduled for March 23, April 27 and May 25. All the meetings are planned to be held at Chaparral High, though the rooms will vary.
