Project Runway Star to Host Fashion Contest

A style contest is coming to The Promenade Mall September 17.

Temecula’s top fashion trendsetter will be announced at a contest at the mall.

The Promenade Temecula’s Project Style 2011 Style-Off is set for 1 p.m. September 17.

A former contestant from the hit show Project Runway, Nick Verreros, will host the event.

Verreros also designs gowns for celebrities to make their way down the red carpet, the event spokesperson, Annette Brown, said in a recent announcement.

Since April, two selected semi finalists have been given a challenge to create the most stylish outfit representing their personal style and creativity. Each of the finalists submitted a video and photos of their creations, which were posted on Shoptopia.com.

Members of Shoptopia casted their votes for their favorite trendsetter during a live voting segment of the online competition.

The style winner of each of the past five months is moving on to the "Style-Off" event were the winner will be announced, Brown explained.

The finalists will have one hour and a budget of $250 to create a complete outfit with accessories.

The winner of the Style-Off will win a $1,000 gift card to the Promenade Mall and bragging rights as Temecula’s top fashionista.

The finalist’s are Riciel Sobrero, Daniel Castillo, Kei Pham and Lexi Lorah, with the fifth finalist being announced this week.

Shoppers and the public are encouraged to attend the free event, Brown said.
