Some Temecula Students Guaranteed Admission to Cal State

New agreement will fast track qualified Temecula students beginning in 2015.

Temecula ninth graders will now have the opportunity to take advantage of a fast track plan that guarantees admission to Cal State San Marcos.

At a meeting last Tuesday, CSUSM president Karen Haynes and ’s governing board president Dr. Allen Pulsipher signed a memorandum of understanding regarding the program.

The plan promises qualifying graduating seniors from the Temecula Unified School District from the class of 2015 and beyond will receive guaranteed admission to CSUSM.

The students must meet California State Univerity course and GPA requirements to qualify for the fast track.

“I am delighted by our renewed partnership with the Temecula Valley Unifed School District,” said CSUSM president Karen Haynes.

“Cal State San Marcos has long been committed to providing area students with an exceptional education and the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with Temecula Unified affirms this commitment,” Haynes explained.

Not only does the MOU guarantee admission to CSUSM, it helps students to become college ready and eligible to apply to any of the CSU system’s 22 other campuses, CSUSM spokesperson Christine Vaughn wrote in a recent report.
