Teacher Suspected of Drinking on Job

Child Endangerment charges could be filed against a Susan LaVorgna Elementary School teacher, an official says.

 

A teacher who was suspected of drinking on the job could face child endangerment charges.

Deputies were called by school officials to in French Valley at 11:59 a.m. today when colleagues suspected the woman was drunk.

The woman was not arrested, and the sheriff's department could not release her name, said sheriff's Lt. Scott Madden.

"We're still investigating the possibility of child endangerment," Madden said.

School officials declined to give information about the incident because it deals with a district employee.

"Due to the fact that it's a personnel matter, we're unable to comment," said Melanie Norton, a spokesperson for the .
