Temecula Kids Give Tips on Going Green

Context Charter School students love the environment, and they want to see Temecula residents pitch in to keep it healthy, they say.

Students around campus have been suggesting ideas to help protect the environment.

At Context Middle School, we interviewed students about their thoughts about going green.

Some people we interviewed were Isabelle Edsall, Kate Thompson and Madison Haschak. They gave us ideas on how to conserve in order to protect the Earth.

Isabelle thought conservation is fantastic and her idea was to turn off the lights before leaving her room or house.

Kate said, "It's great and everyone should do it." Her thought was to turn off the water when using soap.

Madison contributed as well. She stated, "going green is a great idea." Her thought was to take shorter showers.

Protecting nature and the environment is very important. If one animal goes extinct, it often leads to the disappearance of another animal. That damages the ecosystem badly.

Solar panels are another one of the ideas of helping the environment. We also interviewed Max Guerrero, Rex Landis and Sophia Ramos.

Rex told us, "I feel great about recycling, it helps the environment. Also, it's good having solar panels on your house, having spider plants in your yard and turning the lights out when youʼre done."

Sophia thinks that helping the environment is a fantastic idea. She thinks that we should keep the Earth clean because we want people in future generations to see how well we kept the environment.

Max says he feels that it's important to our planet, and we need to think about the future of our kids. He says we shouldn't tear down forests because they are animalsʼ homes.

Studies suggest that taking a five-minute shower uses fifteen percent less water than taking a bath. One little thing can make a big difference.

Maybe we can think of wonderful ideas ourselves. Remember, we can help the environment doing one thing at a time. If we work hard enough, it will all pay off with a more beautiful, healthy world.
