Hot Rods Take Over Old Town Temecula
The Rod Run offers a chance to get an up-close look at classic cars.
Hundreds braved the threat of rain and attended the 2013 Rod Run held Saturday in Old Town Temecula. An event catered to the car enthusiast, it was also the scene for a big surprise for one Wildomar resident.
Vikki Simon thought the family’s 1953 Willys Jeep had been sold by her uncle, never to be seen again. Little did she know, only half of that was true. Her long-time boyfriend, Tom Pearson, had secretly bought it, intending to fix it up for her.
“I thought this would be a good way of giving her the Jeep,” Pearson said. “After two months and help from a few friends, I thought this would get her.”
