Back-to-School Fundraiser; City Council Meeting: Today in Temecula

Five things to know Tuesday, Aug. 13 in Temecula, Calif.

1. Tuesday in Temecula should be sunny with a high temperature of 88 degrees after patchy morning fog clears, according to the National Weather Service’s forecast. Tonight should be mostly clear with an overnight low of 59. Winds may pick up in the afternoon and evening, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

2. As families of the Temecula Valley Unified School District prepare to begin a new school year Wednesday, Rancho Damacitas group home of Temecula is seeking small monetary donations in order to purchase back-to-school items for its students—some of whom attend Temecula public schools. 4. Auditions are taking place for a stage production of "West Side Story" in Temecula. Auditions run from 6-9 p.m. Aug. 12-14 at 42051 Main St. Click here for more info.

5. Mt. San Jacinto College on Monday announced that auditions are being held for its music department. Community members are invited to try out for singing positions as well as spots on guitar ensemble, pit orchestra and jazz ensemble.
