Temecula, Calif. (Jan. 15, 2013) – The Rotary Club of Temecula Valley New Generations recently participated in the Michelle’s Place Annual Christmas Party by providing stockings stuffed with toys and gift cards for 70 children.
These children and their families are part of The Pink Ribbon Assistance Program, a program run by Michelle’s Place offering basic needs assistance during the treatment of cancer. The party took place on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012 at Stadium Pizza in Wildomar. The restaurant was generously closed down to the public for this very special event. The game room was open and free to all kids for the evening and Santa even made an appearance so the children could reveal their holiday wish lists.
“This was the first year our club worked with Michelle’s Place to raise money and purchase holiday gifts for the children and we are so pleased with its success,” said Ashley Garing, president, Rotary Club of Temecula Valley New Generations. “We worked extremely hard to raise the funds by selling ‘stockings’ to individuals throughout the community and with the help of a Rotary grant, were able to spend $2,000 from the club’s fundraising and another $3,000 from the grant on toys, gift cards and more. To see the smiles on the children’s faces and be a part of such a wonderful party was an amazing holiday gift to our club.”
