Great Oak Graduate Finishes Masters Program

Jeni Kern, a 2008 graduate and past Student Body Co-President of Great Oak High School, is set to graduate with her Master of Science in Wellness Management; Health Studies from the University of Central Oklahoma on May 9, 2014. Ms. Kern is the daughter of Larry and Jeannie Kern of Temecula. 

While at UCO, Ms. Kern has been awarded a Research, Creative and Scholarly Activities Grant, been awarded the College of Education and Professional Studies' Outstanding Graduate Student Award and was sent as a presenter to an international conference on Vancouver Island, B.C. this past September. The University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) is located just north of Oklahoma City in Edmond, Oklahoma and is the state's largest metropolitan university, serving more than 17,000 students pursuing degrees in 116 undergraduate and 59 graduate major areas of study. UCO is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. 

Prior to her graduate studies, Ms. Kern attended The University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis in Adolescents, Community and Education. After graduating from UA in less than four years, Ms. Kern spent four months abroad in Italy.
