John Baron, the senior kicker for Temecula's Chaparral high school, continues to provide a solid leg to stand on for his 2-1 Pumas.
In last night's 34-0 victory over Rialto's Carter Lions, and on a relatively windless, autumn night, Baron hit field goals in the second and third quarters of 47 and 51 yards respectively.
Baron's punting skill continues to improve, including his directional placement, hang-time and distance. Ask Carter's return men about last night's field position and they'll likely point to it as one factor which led to their defeat.
After three weeks of competition Baron remains perfect in PAT and kickoffs for touchback. The former soccer stand-out is proving the pre-season hype is warranted as he consistently provides what is asked by head coach Ryan Tukua and his Puma teammates.
