City of Temecula Hosting Sept. 11 Remembrance Event

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11 at the Temecula Duck Pond, 28250 Ynez Road.

As the City of Temecula marks the 12th anniversary of 9/11 and remembers those lost, this year it is also recognizing the 20-year friendship that has endured from its Sister City Leidschendam-Voorburg, The Netherlands.

"Our friends gifted us a beautiful statue, 'Singing in the Rain,' on the first anniversary of Sept. 11, and this year we will unveil two lovely tulips made by a Dutch artist as we celebrate our long lasting friendship and look towards many years to come," the City stated in a news release.

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11 at the Temecula Duck Pond, 28250 Ynez Road. It will include presentations, live music, traditional Dutch treats and a lighting of candles and moment of silence at 7 p.m.
