Heatwave, Thunderstorms Headed for Temecula 

Triple-digit temperatures and thunderstorms were forecast through the weekend.

Today's high was forecast at 102 degrees with a low of 72 and a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service.

Tomorrow's high was forecast for 103 with a low of 71, and Sunday's high was forecast for 102 with a low of 70, according to the service.

High heat and humidity cause thunderstorms and the possibility of flash flooding, according to the service.

When working outside remember to drink small amounts of water frequently, wear light colored, loose fitting clothing and avoid caffeine and alcohol or large amounts of sugar, according to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

The heat was forecast to drop dramatically after Monday. The high on Monday should be 100 degrees, but the highs on Tuesday through the week were forecast for the low 90s to high 80s.
