A strong high pressure dome continues its dominance over the Temecula Valley and all of Southern California.
Today will be the warmest day, then the high will begin to move south to the Baja, and slowly weaken.
The result ... very hot and dry today, then a bit cooler, but still warm for Sunday through Friday.
The temperature in Temecula was expected to hit 102 degrees.
Nights will be noticeably cooler, falling into the 60s in most locations.
Look for elevated fire risk today, especially in the mountain foothill areas that have not had recent rains.
Today: Sunny, hot, breezy, dry. East wind 10 to 20 mph, high near 104 degrees.
