Repairs Continue on Temecula Parkway Following Water Line Break

Two lanes were reopened as of Thursday morning; Rancho California Water District estimates that repairs will be complete by Friday evening.

Following a water line break Tuesday on Temecula Parkway, the Rancho California Water District announced that as of Thursday morning, two lanes had been reopened.

The break caused a sinkhole and therefore required extensive roadwork, creating traffic delays in the area.

“Crews worked throughout the night and all day Wednesday to repair the 20-inch waterline,” said RCWD Spokeswoman Meggan Valencia. “On Wednesday traffic was down to one westbound lane on Temecula Parkway. RCWD paved one lane Wednesday night therefore Temecula Parkway now has two westbound lanes open.”

Crews will continue to work throughout the day Thursday and Friday in order to pave the rest of the westbound lanes on Temecula Parkway, Valencia said.
