A water park project that appeared dead in the water for Temecula may be developed after all, it was reported this week.
Mike Riedel, president of developer company Wild Rivers, told the North County Times that the proposed water park might be built about the same time that another park in Irvine would be constructed.
The water park in Temecula plan has been bandied about for more than five years.
In 2006, a water park was planned for a site near Winchester and Ynez roads but there was opposition from area residents and tenants at a nearby business park, the Times reported.
The council again in 2009 agreed to sell land at Dendy and Diaz roads for $6.7 million for another water park developer but the company fell short of the money needed, according to the NCT.
