Strong and gusty northeasterly winds will continue to blow today in Riverside County, where a frost advisory was also in effect for the Inland Empire and Coachella Valley this morning.
The National Weather Service issued the frost advisory for the Inland Empire and Coachella Valley until 9 a.m., saying temperatures had fallen into the upper 20s to mid-30s.
A frost advisory means that frost is possible. According to the weather service, the southernmost parts of the Inland Empire and wind-sheltered areas in the Coachella Valley were most susceptible to frost early today.

The agency also scheduled a high wind warning for the Inland Empire from 4 a.m. today to 10 a.m. Tuesday.
In the Riverside area, sustained winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour were expected and gusts up to 60 mph were likely, according to the NWS.

The mountains were expected to have sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph and gusts of 45 to 50 mph near wind-favored passes and canyons.
In the Coachella Valley, sustained winds of 15 to 30 mph and gusts up to 50 mph below passes and canyons were expected.
"The winds will make driving difficult, especially for motorists with high profile vehicles," an NWS advisory said. "Watch for broken tree limbs." --City News Service
