Artists to Take to the Streets

The world is their canvas -- or, at least, Old Town is.

More than 100 artists are expected in Old Town for the Temecula Street Painting Festival this weekend.

The festival opens to artists at 5 p.m. Friday on Main and Mercedes streets during the three-day event.

Awards include the People's Choice, Best Monochromatic and Best Youth. This year's theme is "patriotic," according to an organizer.

A special section is reserved for young artists, and to draw is free for them.
