Arts League Seeks New Home

They were using a storefront for free. Now the property owner has paying tenants, so they have to find a new place.

The Temecula Valley Arts League is looking for a new home.

The group has until June 9 to leave their headquarters, said Boardmember Carol Landry.

The nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the arts used the storefront at 41789 Nicole Lane for about two years for free. They got a letter dated March 11 saying the landowner signed a paying tenant, so the group had to go.

Though it came to a sudden end, the members enjoyed their time there, Landry said.

“Having the space was the best thing that the members ever experienced,” she said. “It brought us together as artists and as friends.”

The organizers cancelled its current art exhibition and urged its members to pick up their art supplies.

The group is not disbanding, she said. “We will still exist, but will just need to meet at another location,” she wrote in an announcement.

The organization hosted art classes, and art walk and exhibitions at the location.
