Five local fashion designers and two artists won top honors for a recycled materials fashion show.
The fashion show included three awards. Eileen Doktorski and Joe Posadas won the "Most Innovative Design" award with their "Rise of the Rooster Strut" outfit.
Eileen Doktorski won a second honor along with co-designer Cinda Olivas. They got the "Intellectual Value" award with their "Goddess of Endless Responsibility" outfit.
Melissa Fuente won the "Skill and Craftsmanship" award for her outfit called "Viva La Glam."
The art contest included only one category, "Most Innovative Design Employing Recycled or Reused Materials," but had three winning pieces. Kris Estenger won an award with her piece titled "Mini Tissue Dress." Estenger won a second award for her piece called "Figuratively Speaking. John Giovanni won an award for his piece titled "Sunburst."
The Recycled Art and Fashion Show was on April 21 at and benefited the MSJC Art Department.
