Vendors, Artists still needed.

  • The Arts Colony is steeped in history and tradition. The 340 acres were founded in the early 1930s by Ellen and Robert Dorland. Ellen was a concert pianist. Imagine traveling to the hills of Temecula in the 1930s and 1940s! The Dorlands had creative friends from the East Coast who would travel to Temecula and stay for weeks and months at a time.
  • In the 1970s a board of directors were created to form an official Artist Colony/Retreat as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization.
  • Private donations and volunteers are needed to support this beautiful place offering creative artists, artisans, craftsmen, writers, composers, musicians, academics and photographers a low-cost place to reside for one to several weeks at a time to work in solitude on their craft.
  • Residencies can be applied for online and a review comittee awards residencies. $250/week for a furnished cabin with a bedroom, bathroom and kitchen sitting on a picturesque hillside overlooking the Temecula valley and wine country.
  • The colony sits on a Nature Preserve on the North face of Palomar Mountain in Temecula, CA.

ps. It's a wonderful place to volunteer and/or achieve your community service hours!
