Temecula Bluegrass Festival: Evening Concert

Old Town Temecula's Bluegrass Festival kicks off at 7 p.m. Friday, March 16 with a concert featuring three Festival headliners: Dan Crary & Thunderation, Bluegrass Etc., and Silverado Bluegrass Band.

Crary, a legendary flat pick guitar player with a career that includes playing in the bands California and Bluegrass Alliance, is known as a master guitarist for his unique style that blends traditional material with original compositions. Joining forces with singer/songwriter Steve Spurgin and mandolin/violin player Martin Stevens, Thunderation packs a musical wallop. Spurgin is a BMI award-winning songwriter that has penned songs for the publishing companies of Reba McEntire and Gene Watson.

Well-loved at the Temecula Bluegrass Festival, Bluegrass Etc. with Dennis Caplinger is a nationally known band that includes Caplinger, John Moore on mandolin, guitar and vocals, and Bill Bryson on bass and vocals.

A crowd pleaser and known for their stage personality and high energy, Bluegrass Etc. performs a hard-hitting show of instrumental expertise and vocal precision. Caplinger is a multi-talented musician who has toured and recorded with a variety of top artists including Eric Clapton, Vince Gill, Byron Berline, Dan Crary, Chris Thile, Sean Watkins, Kevin Welch, Ray Price, and Rita Coolidge. He has worked on countless jingles, commercials, cartoons (Pinky and the Brain) and movie soundtracks. Bryson played with the Desert Rose Band.
