Film Fest Needs Volunteers

The annual showcase of music and indie films is looking for people to help run the event.

A nonprofit organization was looking for volunteers to run a showcase for independent film and music.

The 17th-annual Temecula Valley Film and Music Festival was scheduled to run September 14-18 for the UltraStar Cinemas on Ynez Road, but it needs volunteers, said Jo Moulton, the founder of the event.

“Volunteers are the nuts and bolts of the festival,"  Moulton said via a written announcement. “We have some amazing and talented people here in the Temecula Valley, and this is their way to get involved, become part of the festival and, most of all, have a great time.”
A wide variety of volunteers are needed, said Annette Brown, a spokesperson for the event.

"Muscles are needed to haul gear and skilled handymen and carpenters are always welcomed," she said. "Maybe you’re a food server or a bartender who can help provide refreshments or are fluent in French, Japanese, Spanish or other languages and can be an interpreter for our international guests."

Volunteering is hard work, but it also has perks, Moulton said. “There’s the pleasure of hobnobbing with the film and music professional and celebrities."

Volunteers get a free pass to all the films and discounts on tickets to special events, such as the opening night and the black-tie gala.

Training sessions were scheduled for Aug. 20 and 21 at the UltraStar Cinemas. All volunteers must attend one session. For the location,

The public was welcomed to call Kris Dalton at 951-699-5514 or email volunteer@tviff.com to volunteer.
