Godfather of Temecula Rock Scene Calls It Quits

Bill Gould started promoting shows in Temecula more than 10 years ago.

A man who some consider the godfather of Temecula’s rock scene called it quits.

Bill Gould, the founder of Full Value Entertainment, is quitting his band promoting and concert organizing business to focus on his property management business.

He started organizing rock concerts at various venues about 10 years ago.

He founded the Temecula Music Fest, the Live at the Merc and booked for countless other events and venues, such as the defunct Madeline’s Coffee, Cuppy’s Coffee, the Community Recreation Center and the Old Town Temecula Community Theater.

Gould, a Menifee resident, wore a lot of different hats over the last decade. He worked as a sound engineer and band promoter, ran a coffee house, got elected to the Romoland Elementary School District and got into the property management business last year.

He was also the head of the band “Keenwild,” which played at almost every venue in Temecula since its formation in 2002.

Now, Gould wants to take off his promoter’s hat to focus on the others. “I will be taking some time to finish my education, get my real estate brokers license and write and record new music for Keenwild, contribute a regular column for Temecula Calendar, spend time with (daughter) Apryl and (wife) Jeney, blog more here and sleep in,” he announced on his website. “Heck, I might even have time to play a few live shows of my own this year.”

Gould held his final show at the Merc, a stand-alone venue on the Old Town Community Theater’s campus, on Thursday. The Temecula Music Fest will continue, though on July 22 and 23 instead of May, as it has in previous years.
