Public Invited to Pottery Studio Open House

Studio 4 will hold its annual holiday open house on from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, according to Katinka Clementsmith, a spokesperson for the studio.

Folk singer John Lane is scheduled to perform and numerous local arts are slated to run booths and show their handmade pottery, jewelry, paintings and blown glass.

Raku, a kind of Japanese pottery, is slated to be made throughout the day, and visitors can buy pottery, glaze it, watch it fired and then take it home, Clementsmith said in an email. Also, wheel throwing demonstrations were planned.

"Studio 4 is a ceramic studio open to the community to provide ceramic lessons for everyone, from boy and girl scouts to high school kids -- moms and dads as well as, Clementsmith wrote.
