Temecula Police Release Composite Sketch of Suspect in Attempted Burglary

The alleged attempted burglary was reported at 6 a.m. Friday, May 17 in the 31700 block of Corte Cardenas, according to Temecula police Sgt. K. McDonald.

Temecula police on Monday released a composite sketch of an attempted burglary suspect in the hopes someone in the public may recognize her.

The alleged attempted burglary was reported at 6 a.m. Friday, May 17 in the 31700 block of Corte Cardenas, according to Temecula police Sgt. K. McDonald.

"The victims were asleep in their residence when they were awakened by their front doorbell. They looked outside and saw the suspect in the composite drawing standing at their front door," McDonald wrote in a news release.

The suspect then reportedly left that house and drove to another home in the neighborhood, and rang their doorbell.

When no one answered the door, the suspect reportedly got into a newer model, light silver-colored car and drove away, the sergeant wrote.

"Moments later the victim heard a noise at the rear of the residence and discovered the glass sliding door to the patio had been smashed," McDonald wrote.

The suspect was described as a black female between 30 and 40 years old, with a medium build and complexion and long black hair that was pulled back into a ponytail. She was wearing light-colored pants, a light red jacket and a multi-colored red, white and blue blouse, according to police.

No additional suspects were seen.

Anyone with information regarding the alleged crime was encouraged to contact Investigator Guzman of the Temecula Police Department at 951-696-3000.
