UPDATE: THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS EXTENDED THE THUNDERSTORM WARNING UNTIL 3:30 p.m.
A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for west central Riverside County.
The warned was issued at 1:10 p.m. and includes the eastern edges of Southwest Riverside County, including the unincorporated areas of Hemet and Winchester.
The warning extends through 3:30 p.m.
According to the NWS, “Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 mph."
The rain could bring flash flooding, the NWS is reporting. A flash flood watch has been issued through this evening.
