Baily Winery Celebrates Grand Opening Of Second Tasting Room In Temecula Wine Country

The Baily Estate Club Tasting Room was developed with the wine aficionado in mind.

It's official: Temecula Wine Country has a new offering from a long-time local vintner.

Although it's been in the works for months, Baily Winery celebrated the grand opening of its new Estate Club Tasting Room on Aug. 1. Baily Winery’s existing main tasting room is located at 33440 La Serena, while the new Estate Club Tasting Room is at the company’s production facility at 36150 Pauba Road.

Founded in 1986, Baily Winery is one of Temecula’s oldest. Owner and winemaker Phil Baily has hand-crafted wines for over 25 years, and all are made from grapes grown on his property in the Temecula Valley, according to Estate Club Director Lisa Long.

“Phil Baily has been crafting wines at this facility on Pauba Road since 1986,” Long said. “He is definitely one of Temecula’s winemaking pioneers. Wine has been his passion since he was a young man in the service. He and [his wife] Carol built this winery from the ground up, it started as a family business, and it still is to this day.”

The Baily Estate Club Tasting Room was developed with the wine aficionado in mind, as a place to go for those who are knowledgeable about wine (or wish to learn) and want to taste the best Temecula has to offer, without the hassle of large crowds, Long explained. Wine tasters can enjoy an informative tour of the tank and barrel room and taste five Estate Library Wines either at the bar or a sit-down vertical tasting, she said.

While the La Serena location is open seven days a week to the public and offers whites and reds, the new Estate Club Tasting Room offers five tastes from the Baily Library Collection of Bordeaux reds, with vintages dating as far back as 2004. The new facility is open to visitors Thursday – Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., accommodating small groups of two to 12 people by reservation only.
