Mall Cancels Cell Phone Tracking Plan

A plan to track shoppers in the Promenade mall via their cell phone signals was cancelled.

The plan, which was slated to start Friday, was shelved due to privacy concerns, the mall's management company told the Californian.

Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., recently criticized the technology for violating shoppers' privacy.
