Some Southland customers of Time Warner Cable, including some in Riverside County, experienced a service interruption that kept them from viewing part of the Super Bowl today.

Shortly after 5 p.m., Time Warner Cable reported via Twitter that it was working to fix an issue with its KTTV feed that was keeping some of its Los Angeles-area customers from viewing the game.

The contest was viewable on the cable carrier's high-definition Fox channel, TWC reported.

Customers from Los Angeles to Ventura County to Riverside County were reporting that the non-HD channel froze during a Volkswagen commercial.

The interruption, which also affected the KCAL and KTLA standard definition signals, appeared to end around 5:50 p.m., some viewers reported.

“We have resolved a technical issue with the SD signal and apologize for the inconvenience to our customers. There were no issues with the HD signal,” TWC spokesman Dennis Johnson said via email when queried about the interruption.

Canceling them as we speak. It was inexcusable! Biggest game if the year. Verizon was fine. Dish was fine.... Time Warner blew it. They just offered me $10 compensation. That's a joke and pathetic.

Poor Elizabeth missed a few minutes of the game, boo hoo. There was a lot of beer commercials, a lot of patriotic crap mixed with beer commercials, and beer commercials with a lot of patriotic crap selling war propaganda and what it means to be an American. That's what you missed.
