Lots of Room at the Sushi House

If you have a big party and they like sushi, this is your place.

If you have a big party that loves sushi, is your place.

It takes up a bland suite in an older strip mall on Jefferson Avenue, but the food is great, and it might be the most accommodating for big parties.

The spacious dining room had seven booths, 12 tables that could be moved and pushed together and 16 seats at the bar.

It was dimly lit, lending it a bit of mood, and had two flat-screen televisions.

It’s been open more than four years, a friendly young waitress told me. It has two locations in Temecula and Riverside.

All you can eat cost $17.95 for lunch and included almost everything from the normal menu.

The fire roll was filled with spicy tuna and cucumber with raw jalapeño on top. It was served in an orange sauce and very spicy.

The Cajun roll was filled with spicy tuna with seared tuna on top and dusted with ground cayan pepper.

The ninja roll has a spicy tuna filling with asparagus and cream cheese, and the aloha roll had a spicy tuna filling with cilantro and jalapeño on top, which was particularly fresh tasting.

The sushi was pretty standard, but the waitress and the man making the food were both very friendly, and in the late afternoon – between the lunch and dinner rushes – the place had few customers, so I got lots of attention.
