Temecula Resident Finalist in Fresh & Easy Contest

If Gian Vital's design wins, it will be turned into a reusable bag at the store.

Gian Vital of Temecula is one of 10 finalists in Fresh & Easy’s third annual Design-A-Bag Contest.

Vital’s design was chosen out of close to 600 submissions due to its originality and creativity, according to Fresh & Easy. The illustration features a tree with flowers, fruits, and vegetables; a bright sun and blue sky, and animals, including a cow and a rooster.

"I am very excited to be a finalist," Vital said. "I was so surprised when I found out and am very happy that my design made the cut for the top ten.”

The public gets to vote for their favorite design out of the finalists, with the winner being made into a limited edition reusable bag sold at Fresh & Easy stores later this year. The winner will also get a year’s worth of free groceries. Finalists will receive a $100 Fresh & Easy gift card.

The company hopes that by asking customers to design the next reusable bag, more people will use them.
