We will bury us.

The last time (prior to Vladimir Putin's already infamous 9/11/13 rant) a Russian leader was given the anti-USA op-ed podium in NYC the internet did not exist and the New York Times, the three TV networks and the rest of the media consisted of journalists who, not unlike today's slobberers, were ostensibly liberals at heart. Nonetheless, they earned their pay by carefully portraying political neutrality. Back then the media was also overly enamored of the president and his so-called Camelot but at least JFK was a true American hero, a respected leader and an accomplished politician even before winning the presidency.

During the Cold War Era media types almost always let the story be the story and let the pursuit of the story – getting the scoop – be their raison d'être.  In order to make an even bigger story of his historic first Cold War visit to the enemy USA, ham-fisted Leninist soviet Premier Nikita Sergeyevich Khrushchev emphasized anti-American points to the UN General Assembly by removing his shoe and using it on the desk like a judge uses a gavel on his bench to demand attention in the courtroom . . .
