Bye Bye, Blue Skies

A chance of rain is forecast through the weekend.

Today’s rainstorm is forecast to last until tomorrow and possibly through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

The chance of rain will taper off from 100 percent to 80 percent in Temecula tonight, then to 50 percent tomorrow morning. Thursday night will bring a 20 percent chance of rain, but that will rise to 30 percent by Friday morning, according to the forecast.

Friday night and Saturday are forecast for a 70 percent chance of rain. Sunday’s also forecast for clouds and a chance of rain, according to the service.

Today’s high is forecast for 59 degrees, the low at 40. Tomorrow’s high should be 55 with a low of 38. Friday’s high is forecast for 57 with a low of 41.

The mountains are forecast for snow, and strong gusts of wind reaching 25 miles per hour are expected in Temecula today.

A low pressure system moving south from the Gulf of Alaska caused the rains, and a second low-pressure system moving north from the Mexican coast is expected to arrive Friday, increasing the chance of rains, according to the weather serivce.
