Camp Pendleton Issues Noise Advisory Through Week

The firing of high-explosive munitions is taking place through Friday on the base.

Sounds of high-explosive munitions training on Camp Pendleton have the ability to travel up to 50 miles away this week.

Consequently, the Marine base has issued a noise advisory for the area through Friday.

The training is taking place on the Zulu and Whiskey impact areas, which U.S. Marine Sgt. John Jackson said are large areas.

In some parts, the impact areas border southwestern Riverside County.

"It just depends on what area they are training in, and what the weather is like," the sergeant said.
