Expect Hot Time In Temecula For Fourth Of July Weekend

National Weather Service predicts Temecula will be in the mid-90s for Fourth of July festivities.

Parade? Fireworks? Temecula will provide those. But make sure you have plenty of fluids and sunscreen with you as you celebrate the Fourth of July in the city.

The National Weather Service predicts temperatures will be in the low to mid-90s for the Fourth of July weekend. The needle is expected to climb to a high of 95 on Sunday, and will drop only two degrees for Monday’s July 4 celebrations.

If you plan to hit the beach, temperatures are expected in the mid-70s in San Diego and the high-70s to 80 degrees at both Newport and Huntington Beaches.

If you're headed to Surf City, remember Huntington Beach fills up fast. Get there early to park and expect to walk a bit. Fireworks start on the Huntington Beach Pier (325 Pacific Coast Highway) at 9 p.m.

If you stay at home, you can start your day with the 19th Annual Fourth of July Parade in Old Town Temecula. The slice of hometown Americana includes marchers, floats, equestrians and local dignitaries waving from the back of convertables.

The parade route begins at 10 a.m. off Old Town Front Street, and heads north from Second Street to Moreno Road.

If you decide to hide in air conditioning or the pool all day, join fellow residents at night for the city’s Fourth of July Extravaganza at Ronald Reagan Sports Park (30875 Rancho Vista Rd.). Food vendors, live music and a fun zone for the kids begins at 2 p.m. Fireworks begin at 9 p.m.
