The Corona family, which owns the field, runs what they say is the one of the last working farms in the Temecula Valley.

This kind of festival used to be common in Riverside County, said Annette Nielson, a spokesperson for the Corona family.

"Before the massive influx of homes and shopping markets in California, large farms would hold festivals celebrating the harvest and the closing of the growing season," she wrote in an email. "Just as now, it’s a time to gather and celebrate the simple things that are Americana."
