Friday is upon us and it’s time to make plans for those precious weekend hours. The good news is, there is plenty to do. Check out our picks for this weekend’s fun activities to hit and places to explore.

This weekend you can sport a cowboy hat and learn to two-step, don a beret and learn to sketch or put on a clown nose and learn a juggling technique or two.

Why Go: This classic rock opera depicts the final days of Jesus Christ and features the spectacular music of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.

Why Go: Learn how to line dance with the pros. Dancers 18 and older are welcome.

Why Go: This weekend is your last chance to catch the circus before it moves along to the next town. The Circus Vargas show features daring aerialists, flipping acrobats, entertaining clowns and jugglers and tricksters aplenty. Come early and kids can get a real live circus tutorial from actual performers.

Why Go: Temecula art instructor Reshma Solbach teaches this fun class. Learn how to create compelling portraits with just a pencil and your own keen eye. All artists need to bring is a pad of paper.

Why Go: Enjoy a special screening of this classic Western featuring Robert Redford and Paul Newman. As a sidenote: I don't think these guys line dance.
