Margarita Road Set for Beautification

Dozens of liens to pay for landscaping on weed-strewn private property were put on homeowners on Margarita Road.

A beautification project is ready to go for Margarita Road.

The City Council approved during a Tuesday meeting at the a $218,880 contract to improve the public right-of-way along a stretch of road from Ramsey Court to Avenida Cima Del Sol, according to public works staff.

The project will landscape the area behind the sidewalk along the east side of the road, according to a city document.

"The purpose of the project is to enhance the easterly curb line of Margarita Road with new slope protection, fencing, trees and landscaping and irrigation," the document states.

The city got three bids, and the contract went to KASA Construction, Inc., which bid about $5,000 lower than the next lowest bidder.

Rancho Pacific Engineering, Inc., bid $223,687 and EBS General Engineering bid $651,350, according to city records.
