New Book Reveals Wine Country's Best Recipes

Local author releases collection of the best food his home region offers.

A new cookbook pays tribute to the chefs, winemakers, growers and farmers of Wine Country.

The full-color book, called “A Recipe for Temecula Wine Country: A contemporary cookbook featuring recipes from 22 of Temecula Valley's finest wineries,” borrows recipes from the menus of Temecula wineries. The authors are Temecula residents Linda Kissam and Tom Plant.

“This is a story of the love and inspiration found in each bite and sip visitors take here,” Kissam said in an e-mail. “It’s a way to bond with what makes the taste of this place so memorable.”

The book costs $19.98 and is available at Dudley’s Wine & Gifts, Thornton Winery, Foot Path Winery, Ponte Winery, Doffo Winery and at www.buybooksonline.com. Plans are also in the works to make it available on www.amazon.com and at Barnes & Noble Bookstores.

Kissam and Plant encourage people who buy the book to take it to local wineries to get it signed by the wine makers and chefs they mention in the book.
