Police Seek Sexual Assault Victims In Ongoing Menifee Case

Todd Mitchell Edwards, 49, allegedly committed sex crimes on teen girls and police think there may be more victims.

A man suspected of committing sexual assaults on teen girls is behind bars, and now police say they want to talk to other victims who may have yet to come forward.

Todd Mitchell Edwards, 49, of Murrieta was arrested in the Menifee area on suspicion of sexual penetration of a foreign object upon a minor, sexual battery and witness intimidation, Sgt. Glenn Williams of the Menifee Police Department reported Friday.

Two teens are believed to be victims. A third victim was identified during the investigation, but the statute of limitations prevented criminal charges from being filed, Williams reported.

After an extensive investigation by Menifee police, “it was determined Edwards committed the sexual assaults in November 2006 and February 2012,” Williams explained.

The suspect was known by the victims and their families, the sergeant continued.

Sheriff investigators believe there may be other victims and urge them to come forward and contact law enforcement to report the crimes.

Anyone with additional information regarding this investigation is encouraged to contact Investigator John Wyatt, at the Menifee Police Department by calling (951) 210-1000, or PerrisStation@RiversideSheriff.org
