Public Invited to College Gala

The public was invited to a gala at to raise money for student scholarships.

is scheduled for 6 p.m. February 11, and will include a buffet-style dinner, music by the Menifee Jazz Ensemble and a student art exhibition.

The event is hosted by the Mt. San Jacinto College Foundation, a nonprofit that runs support programs for the college.

"The gala is the foundation’s signature event to raise money for student scholarships and other endeavors that benefit students," said Karin Marriott, a spokesperson for the college.

The art on display will be judged for a contest. Winners will be announced at the gala. Winners will get scholarships worth $250 to $1,000.

The gala is a semi-formal event. Cocktail attire is appropriate, Marriott said in an emailed announcement.
