Publication of The Californian Ceases, U-T San Diego Confirms
The newspaper stated that while The Californian section is gone, U-T San Diego will continue to be available in Temecula and Southwest Riverside County.
In an article posted in its Economy section, U-T San Diego confirmed Tuesday it has ended publication of The Californian section, as a result cutting at least 10 positions.
U-T San Diego purchased The Californian and North County Times in September 2011, when at least 80 layoffs were dealt as part of a reorganization.
The Californian was struggling financially, U-T San Diego stated.
The newspaper stated that while The Californian section is gone, U-T San Diego will continue to be available in Temecula and Southwest Riverside County.
