Two Tremors Strike East of Temecula

One rural intersection was the epicenter of three small quakes this week.

Two small earthquakes with epicenters east of Temecula rumbled the area on Tuesday.

The first tremor hit at 2:38 p.m. with its epicenter near Tule Valley Road at Richard Nixon Blvd. in Aguanga. It measured 1.3 in magnitude, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The second struck at 10:54 p.m. with its epicenter near Crosley Truck Trail about three miles south of Highway 79 directly south of Vail Lake.

Two other tremors struck the Aguanga location during the last week.

A 1.3 magnitude quake hit the spot at 11:46 p.m. on July 2, and a 1.7 magnitude quake struck the same spot at 7:33 p.m. on July 3.
