Volunteers Needed for Balloon, Wine Fest

Volunteers who work a gold shift of eight hours will receive a full meal, water, snacks and special volunteer T-shirt, an organizer says.

Volunteers are needed to to work a variety of shifts at the Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival slated for June 1-3 at Lake Skinner.

Volunteers get a souvenir T-shirt and admission to the festival. Volunteer jobs include ticket taking, balloon crewing and beverage service. Volunteers who work a gold shift of eight hours will receive a full meal, water, snacks and special volunteer T-shirt.

The event opens Friday, June 1 at 3 p.m. with concerts and the evening balloon glow, wine tasting from more than 20 wineries, and national headliners in concert on the main stage. Phil Vassar, Gloriana and Chris Cagle headline Country Friday at the festival. Lifehouse and Soul Asylum headline the main stage on Saturday. Sunday features a freestyle motocross show and John Waite in concert on the Wine Stage.

Festival hours are Friday 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday hours 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
