Responding to the popularity of its classical music programming, the California Center for the Arts, Escondido
has added the Discovery Series to its roster to highlight young artists making a name for themselves on the world stage. In conjunction with the La Jolla Music Society, the Center will present three award-winning musical virtuosos celebrating age-old classics. Pianist Pavel Kolesnikov will conclude the series.
According to The Telegraph, Kolesnikov's playing is marked by "brilliance, but also a caressing, almost sly intimacy." In addition to being named the 2012 Honens Prize Laureate, the young pianist has received many accolades performing in every corner of the globe.
