JAZZ AT THE MERC

Performance Date: January 31, 2013 7:30 pm - This week, guitarist Jeff Linsky and bass virtuoso Jennifer Leitham team up for a show at The Merc.  Jennifer sings too, and she and Jeff have been doing a show together for some time now, and what a show it will be.  Get your tickets early as this is a performance not to be missed.

For more than three decades, Jeff has traveled the world with his guitar, recording several critically acclaimed albums along the way. His guitar is featured on many recordings for other musicians and composers, as well, and on several compilation albums for Concord Jazz. With his endless repertoire, wonderful improvisational skills, a dry sense of humor and warm stage presence, Jeff has played many of the world's finest concert halls and has been invited to perform privately for Presidents and Royalty. Also an award-winning composer, Jeff has written for film and television in the US and abroad.

Jennifer Leitham, vocals, bass, composer --“The world that Leitham has moved in since the early ’80s has been at the center of the highest levels of jazz performance. More than 100 recordings as an A-list bassist, eight CDs of her own, long-term stints with Mel Tormé, Doc Severinsen and the Woody Herman Thundering Herd as well as appearances with the likes of Gerry Mulligan, Joe Pass, Louis Bellson, Bill Watrous, Cleo Laine and dozens of others attest to the far-ranging versatility of her playing”.
