KANAN ROAD BAND

June 27, 2014
6:00 - 9:00 PM

Kanan Road was born more than ten years ago when three brothers from Southern California started a band in Palmdale. After digging through their dad's vinyl and CD collection, the boys began turning their musical interest away from current popular music. They stumbled upon mostly classic and southern rock albums from bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker, The Outlaws, Journey and Bad Company. They also discovered many country artists like John Conlee, Ronnie Milsap, Travis Tritt, The Desert Rose Band, Southern Pacific, and The Charlie Daniels Band. The boys claim that dad's music collection became the soundtrack of their youth and has deeply influenced their sound.

Since then, Kanan, Kyle, and Kory Cox have been performing throughout the Southwest, and although many great band members have come and gone, the Cox brothers have remained intact. They began writing their own songs shortly after the band's inception and they continue to write religiously. Through the production of many self produced studio recordings, containing over forty original songs, the boys have truly come up with a sound of their own. When asked what they like to call their style, they can only describe it as "California Country".

Together, the brothers introduce unforgettable energetic live acoustic and full band performances that are filled with heartfelt precision. Kanan Road has shared the stage with the likes of The Band Perry, Bombshell, Jimmy Wayne, Molly Hatchett, Josh Gracin, Austin Law, Jason Meadows, Double Wide, Sara Petite, Heather Myles, and Cash'd Out. At many shows which have most recently included The Wagon Wheel Festival, The Frontier Days Festival, The Round Up Rodeo, The Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival, The Antelope Valley Fair, The Riverside County Fair and National Date Festival, The Bluebird Cafe, and The Nashville Airport. The brothers love to perform live. It is a special treat to hear three part harmonies over a great blend of Southern Rock tinged country guitar, especially when blood brothers are doing it. It's something you have to see and hear for yourself. Come check them out at a show soon. You will be thoroughly entertained.
