Temecula Valley Museum Hosting Gingerbread House Contest

Children 8 and older, families, professionals and businesses are all encouraged to enter by the registration deadline of Dec. 1.

The Temecula Valley Museum is sponsoring its first-ever Gingerbread House contest.

Children 8 and older, families, professionals and businesses are all encouraged to enter. Celebrity guest judge Susan Carberry, owner of The Cake Cottage and winner on TLC’s "Ultimate Cake Off" will help decide the winners, according to a news release.

Prizes totaling more than $150 total in gift certificates to local businesses will be awarded.

“We invite all Gingerbread House making enthusiasts, regardless of experience. If you think you have what it takes, please enter and show us your candied culinary creations,” stated Museum Manager Tracy Frick.

The contest is separated into divisions: children’s divisions for 8- to 12-year-olds and 13- to 16-year-olds; and an adult division for those 17 and older.

All participants must make and submit their own work. Entries must be delivered to the museum between Dec. 1 and Dec. 8, during museum hours.

The entries will remain on display at the museum from Dec. 1-15. Winners will be announced at noon on Dec. 14 during the Holiday Workshop.

The registration deadline is Dec. 1, and there is a $5 fee per entry.
