2012 Election: Turn Off Fox News And Do Some Research

Vote with your brains and not your hearts.

In approximately seven weeks we will be voting in one of the most crucial elections in our country's history.

I beg all of you, leave the media hype out of your decisions and THINK FOR YOURSELF! There is plenty of blame to go around on both sides, but I hope you will take the time to research things like the GAO audit of the Federal Reserve to see where trillions of dollars of our money has gone (corporate welfare) because of George Bush's huge blunders with our economy and his failed ideology.

Now Mr. Romney would like us to believe that the so-called 47 percent are to blame for our country's problems? The Republican Party has been successful in obstructing President Obama's efforts to bring our economy out of the tank. Remember John Boehner and Mitch McConnell stating that they wanted President Obama to fail? In the process they nearly drove us into another Great Depression!

Please leave your religious beliefs out of voting! There is a time and place for religion and it does not belong in government. Vote with your brains and not your hearts. As Bill Clinton said at the Democratic Convention, no president could have corrected the mistakes of the previous administration in just four years. Turn off FOX NEWS, get on your computer and do some research that doesn't have a political bias.

Chris, Can you explain exactly why you think Mr. Romney is "much better than what we have now"?
Chuck October 3, 2012 at 03:27 am

Key Obama facts
GDP growth in the 12 quarters after a recession Average since WWII 15.2% Ronald Reagan 18.5% Obama 6.7% http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10000872396390444813104578016873186217796.html?mod=opinion_newsreel Even today’s job numbers were real, if the labor force participation rate was the same as when Obama took office, the unemployment rate would be ~11%. Obama’s debt and deficits are unsustainable. His $4 Trillion deficit reduction plan is phony even according to the MSM WaPo. The Washington Post’s Glenn Kessler: “The Repeated Claim That Obama’s Budget Reduces The Deficit By $4 Trillion Is Simply Not Accurate. … Virtually No Serious Budget Analyst Agreed With This Accounting.”(Glenn Kessler, “Fact Checking Bill Clinton’s Speech And Other Democrats At The Convention In Charlotte,” The Washington Post’s “The Fact Checker,” 9/6/12) Obama's proposed budget for 2013 was so phony and irresponsible it lost 414-0 in the House and 99-0 in the Senate. Not a single Dem voted for Obama's budget. Obama has given no reason to believe his policies will work any better in a second term than in his first term. In fact, his large tax increases (Obamacare alone is $1 Trillion ) will make the economy worse. There is also a regulatory avalanche waiting to fall on American business.

Even if Fridays job numbers are real, and not the equivalent of a Chicago election, the job market is still lousy. Please see http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10000872396390444223104578038623709703516.html?mod=djemEditorialPage_h
By the way, O'haul raised $181 million in September, but only 2% of the contributions are reportable. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/10/06/windfall-obama-raises-181-million-only-2-reportable The Obama administration is a honest and transparent as a Chicago election.

The following exemplifies the Obama administration and Leftism in general.
"The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) paid Chicago consultants over $200,000 in taxpayer money to put on diversity training workshops that included activities in which employees were instructed to chant 'our forefathers were illegal immigrants.'" Squandering our money for Leftist indoctrination. Obama has put people who think like this throughout his regime. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/10/06/USDA-Diversity-Training-Workshops-Instructed-Attendees-To-Chant-Our-Forefathers-Were-Illegal-Immigrants

And 100 years later it was the Democratic Party that fought for civil rights culminating with Democratic President Lyndon B. Johnson's signing into law the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Wanna see what "scaled down" our defense readiness? Declining numbers of recruits due to fear of being sent to another useless war like Iraq. Rusting military machinery that will never be brought back from Iraq. Billions wasted on projects like Medium Extended Air Defense System (MEADS) which the Army has determined is ineffective. As many Democrats as Republicans are pushing for these military white elephants to be built despite the militaries saying they are unneeded and a waste of funds. History has proven that the weapons that turn the tides of battles and wars are not the most complex or expensive. The Stinger anti-aircraft missile drove the Russians from Afghanistan - all by its self. This is not a particularly expensive or complex weapon. George Patton praised, not the tank, but the M1 Garand semi-automatic rifle as the finest weapon of war to date and it gave US soldiers a great advantage against German and Japanese soldiers were mostly equipped with bolt action rifles. Once again, the Garand was relatively simple and inexpensive to produce. We all know the devastating power of the IED - Improvised Explosive Device responsible for so many dead and wounded American forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. These were mostly constructed from spare or surplus Iraq army artillery rounds that insurgents learned to bury alongside roads traveled by US troop convoys and set off by remote control using a cell phone. Can't get more low tech and low cost or effective than that.

Yes, aint war good for the economy. Reagan re-lit the cold war then whipped out the taxpayer's charge card to fund his expansion. It's insane to use GDP as anything to strive for. Examples: the more people getting cancer, the higher GDP because of all the (often public) money spent to care for them.
Obama's debt and deficit are about what they were when he took office. And they were run-up during the 8 years of Emperor Dubya's reign. The miracle is that Obama stopped Dubya's debt from growing. Perhaps the only thing worse for America than Obama's budget is Romney's, primarily because he doesn't have one. All he has are promises with no numbers to back them up. A vote for Romney is a vote for smoke-and-mirrors. Deregulation of Wall Street is the single most influential factor that led to the Dubya depression. It's about time we make the Wall Street high rollers responsible for their own losses as well as their winnings. End socialism for the rich.

Ya. That'd be like having one who believes there's going to be this great battle where all the 'godly people' will be beamed up to their version of Kolob and then god's (the prince of peace) son is going to kill everyone left on the planet. That'd really be weird. Oh wait. That already was weird.
Reverend Smith October 9, 2012 at 04:22 am
The South turned to the Democratic party primarily because the president who presided over their defeat (Lincoln) was a Republican. They only turned Republican when Johnson pushed for passage of the Civil Rights Act. LBJ knew his party would probably suffer in the south, but pushed for the legislation just the same. And the GOP was there to pander to the south's racist mentality and has to this day.

All valid responses to HF. But we have to have a little compassion for Reagan. They kept his Alzheimers a secret for as long as they could. Some of us picked up that this guy's mind was not really functioning. But he was a great actor wasn't he? Learned his scripts really well. Reagan was the beginning of bank and S&L deregulation madness that has led us to the present Wall Street and housing deregulation mess. Ya thanks a lot Ron. If there's a political hell, Reagan presides.
Italo Domani October 9, 2012 at 07:33 pm
Gregory, What's wrong? Don't care for a little competition? What you really should be concerned with is the Supreme Court ruling that allows CORPORATIONS unlimited contributions to the campaingns. In other words, it's called buying an election and the elimination of democracy. You want to complain about Obama's campaign raising $181 million in September? Wait until you see the final numbers for the GOP! You are so blind with ideology that you can't even see that you are being brain washed into voting against your own interests.
Gregory Brittain October 9, 2012 at 07:45 pm
I have no objection to Obama raising and spending any amount of money, as long as he does it legally. The Obama campaign relaxed the controls on its website so foreigners can contribute. Mitt Romney's campaign and most commercial sites require the CVV and require the name and address to match. Obama does not.
Italo Domani October 9, 2012 at 07:46 pm
Lyz, OMG! Another conspiracy! The "COMMIES" are coming to get us again! OMG! Let's see, where have I heard this before? I think it started when I was 20 years old and serving in Vietnam. All the commies were going to paddle across the Pacific in their little row boats and attack the U.S. if we didn't stop the "commie agression". Then Nixon ended that war, "Peace With Honor" b.s., as I watched the Navy shove serviceable helicopters over the side of aircraft carriers and into the ocean. Then Reagan threw money at the Pentagon that they didn't ask for or need and built up the military again, driving up the deficit. Then W started an illegal and immoral war with Iraq that wasted a trillion dollars and thousands of innocent lives on both sides. Then W went into Afghanistan after someone told him he attacked the wrong country. Open you eyes, Lyz! It's another conspiracy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gregory Brittain October 9, 2012 at 08:06 pm
The Citizens United case did not allow unlimited contributions to campaigns.
Citizens United is a non profit group that wanted to make a movie critical of a candidate for public office. I thought in America we could do that. Under McCain-Feingold, that was illegal. In oral argument, the government's attorney admitted the government could ban books critical of candidates for public office. If the government can ban movies, it can logically ban books. What was really scary was that 4 US Supreme Court justices stated in dissent that the government can prevent citizens from criticizing or supporting candidates for public office. McCain-Feingold applied to communications within 60 days of a general election and 30 days of a primary election. If those time limits are OK, why not during the election year? McCain-Feingold applied to communications costing more than the contribution limits, which effectively prevents political speech to large numbers of people. McCain-Feingold exempted the "media" but limited everyone else's rights. Whether you like the movie or not, under McCain-Feingold it would be illegal to show or distribute the movie 2016. That is not the America I grew up in. That is not the "sweet land of liberty." Fortunately, under Citizens United, all Americans are free to individually or collectively through organizations engage in political speech. If Obama appoints more justices, they will restrict our First Amendment rights.
Italo Domani October 9, 2012 at 09:16 pm
Gregory, I think you may be a bit confused or misinformed regarding campaign contributions, but you are entitled to your opinion. As for the 2016 "documentary", I've used several sources to research it's content for accuracy or the lack thereof. The majority is of the opinion the film maker made that peace of garbage to get the conservative lunatics enraged. Looks like he succeeded. As for censorship, I'm totally against it in any form. That 's exactly the kind of conspiracy crap that is destroying our country. It 's NOT because Obama is a "socialist".

My point was not to discuss the merits or accuracy of 2016. My point is that making and showing 2016, or any movie for or against Obama, Romney or any political candidate, should be protected by the First Amendment. Under McCain-Feingold, it would be illegal to do so within 60 days of the election.
I have debated 2016 with others on the Patch. No one has been able to identify any significant errors in the movie. Much if not most of the movie is from Obama's book. Much of the movie is Obama reading his book. If you have not seen the movie, it should be on cable soon. Before you vote for Obama again, I urge you watch it. I also urge to you listen to Steve Wynn. Please see my following post.
Gregory Brittain October 11, 2012 at 02:51 am
Steve Wynn, casino owner and developer and a Dem who voted for Obama in 2008 said on October 9:
"I'm afraid of the president. I have no idea what goofy idea, what crazy, anti-business program this administration will come up. I have no idea. And I have to tell you Jon that every business guy I know in the country is frightened of Barack Obama and the way he thinks." “I've created about 250,000 direct and indirect jobs according to the state of Nevada's measurement. If the number is 250,000, that's exactly 250,000 more than this president, who I'll be damned if I want to have him lecture me about small business and jobs. I'm a job creator. Guys like me are job creators and we don't like having a bulls-eye painted on our back.” “The president is trying to put himself between me and my employees. By class warfare, by deprecating and calling a group that makes money 'billionaires and millionaires who don't pay their share.' I gave 120% of my salary and bonus away last year to charities, as I do most years. I can't stand the idea of being demagogued, that is put down by a president who has never created any jobs and who doesn't even understand how the economy works.” http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2012/10/09/steve_wynn_on_obama_ill_be_damned_if_ill_have_him_lecture_me.html

Teller > You are afraid. And you're not smart. Most people are not living in fear as you do, even though they probably live in places more dangerous than you do and would have much better reason to be paranoid.
If you are so afraid of someone knowing your name or seeing your picture, build a "safe room," go in, and don't come out. And if you want to post in a public forum without being identified or seen, please go to the next live public forum and either be quiet, or before you make a comment, you should put a bag over your head.

@SPB Which conservative Christian principles are you afraid of being imposed on you? The protection of unborn life?? Marriage = one man and one woman? Or are you opposed to all of those silly 10 Commandments telling you how to live your life?
Yea, I can see how conservative Christian principles would be a problem.

All comes down to getting the "GOLD" Balanced right in the big City Hall right? We areRead More broke we are broke! We have how many more million dollar residents, ranches, farms who pay taxes, how many more business's, triple, quadruple, on and on that pay taxes, and some very large business's at that for YEARS. Yet Murietta and Menifee with just the few they have can manage to not only put in side walks, AND ALSO ACTULLY Listen their residents, instead of call them names like Paul has been, concerns and respond to them. Hell we are just now getting some attention to our driving issues with running red lights, speeding, not stopping at stop signs, driving drunk, high, or wreeklessly causing deaths and serious injuries to walkers, bike riders, skate board, scooter riders, wheelchairs, motor bike riders, and other cars. But how many lives were lost or severly disabled until we just now the last 2 weeks have been giving traffic details for different areas, cell phone details, etc. Lucky to get some sidewalks finished in 10 years if someone doesnt figure out where our "Gold" is we all pay in. And stop calling names people at the City meetings to Paul or anyone else trying to get our City to do what its there for. By the time someone in your own family is killed they will be laughing at you for standing up asking for sidewalks right? Just like on the "Patch" comment areas, always calling names instead of sticking with your fellow Temeculites and getting us something DONE! Before we loose more lives
